Register for the Next Fox Valley Branch Public Works Camp!

  • January 11th, 2012

After another great session last fall, we're ready to go again! And this time, we have planned for a bonus session that we guarantee will increase your opportunities for learning and networking. So click on over to our registration site and sign up now: Public Works Camp Registration Site

Remember, in the spirit of a traditional unconference, we don't have a set agenda for the day. But as all of us in public works know, there's never a lack of issues to discuss. And, the more people we have, the more experience and information we have to share! (And as we found out at past camps, it's especially beneficial to bring along a wastewater person or someone who has worked at IDOT!).

The registrations are already filling our inbox so make sure you sign up and get your spot saved. And between now and Feb 10th, head on over to our uservoice site and post some discussion ideas or vote for the ones already hanging out there.

Remember

Public Works Camp – Feb 10th – You won't want to miss this one!

Make sure you don't miss out on trying out this new and innovative method of delivering education. With all the changes in our profession, there's sure to be interesting discussions and sharing of ideas and information! To register just visit the Fox Valley Branch APWA site, and remember, you don't have to be an APWA member to attend!

Join us March 18th for Public Works Camp

  • February 24th, 2011

The Fox Valley Branch of the Chicago Chapter of APWA has been delivering quality education for public works professionals in the Fox Valley area for some time. And the education committee is continuing to develop even more interesting topics and formats through which we can all ramp up our knowledge.

So we ask that you consider joining us for an interactive and newer style workshop designed to provide a unique learning experience.  This is not your typical seminar as this will provide an opportunity for every attendee to discuss, and if interested, even lead a topic of their choosing.  Participants will be able to tailor their day choosing from a variety of topics with possible subject areas covering CCDD, stormwater, water/wastewater, municipal policies, ADA, transportation, GIS/CAD, doing more with less, grants, etc.

Do you have ideas for other topics you would like to hear more about?  Maybe you would like to share your knowledge regarding a topic you feel would draw the interest of your colleagues?  Well, that is exactly why we set up this site at http://publicworkscamp.uservoice.com. Feel free to post new topics, ideas, or suggestions on that site or if you'd rather not, go ahead and add them in the comment field. (To access the comment field, you have to click the title of this post and wait to be taken to it's page.)

And we'll see you at the camp on March 18th!
